Retirement Planning

RETIREMENT PLANNING

Retirement planning has been complicated by changes to the retirement age. Many people are not quite sure when they will retire, or what their income will be. Stock-in-trade advice is to calculate retirement income two years before stopping work. For many this is easier said than done. Various forms of income including state pensions; and defined contributions (money-purchased) or benefits contributions (final salary) pension schemes will make up retirement income. Savings, investments and other assets may also enhance later-life earnings. The decisions that are made about existing finances will have an impact on later-life choices, cash-flow and lifestyle. Let our retirement planning experts help you to make informed decisions. We want to uncover options for you; so that you can enjoy the retirement that you have worked so hard for.

How we consult with you

Retirement planning begins and ends with you. We will consider your current financial arrangements; salaries, existing pensions, assets, savings and investments. We will ask you about your financial goals, and how you want to live in your retirement – including your future plans; your attitude to risk, and your cash flow requirements. We will combine both analyses and create a long-term financial plan for your retirement. The new retirement plan will outline in plain English, what you need to do to implement your retirement plan.

Once your retirement plan is on track, we will then put in place a structured review process. This involves regular updates to check that your finance plan is still taking you in the right direction and that your life-stage needs have not changed. We will automatically update your plan allowing for any major life changes, such as marriage, divorce, the birth of a grandchild, or a change of income.

We will make sure that we catch the life events that can change financial circumstances. At all times we will tailor the service that we provide to your personal requirements.

Ours is a personal service. We keep you informed and respond immediately to any questions that you may have about your personal investments, or the wider economic environment. We are always on the end of a phone and will respond speedily to emails. Ultimately; we want to put you at the helm of your retirement plan, safe in the knowledge that we are keeping things ship-shape for you.
